The Garmin LiveScope 2 HD (LVS42HD) is the next generation of Garmin's live-scanning sonar technology, engineered for maximum detail at close to mid-range distances. It delivers up to 50% more detail and 20% higher resolution near the boat compared to previous LiveScope generations, with finer target separation of 3.8" at 30 ft — making it ideal for finesse fishing, dock and brush pile targeting, structure work and shallow-water applications at castable range. Integrated image stabilisation and improved stitching produce cleaner, smoother images with reduced sonar artefacts. The LVS42HD operates at 850–1,600 kHz for ultra-high-definition imagery and scans to 125 ft in freshwater. Unlike previous LiveScope systems, no GLS 10 black box is required — the sonar processing hardware is built into the transducer itself, which connects directly to a compatible Garmin chartplotter and power source. Water Detection automatically turns off sonar transmit when the transducer is removed from the water to prevent overheating. Forward, Down and Perspective viewing modes are all supported, with wider sonar angles for better coverage. An adjustable Perspective Mode Mount is included. Compatible with Garmin BlueNet and Garmin Marine Network via the included GMN1 adapter. Compatible with the optional Spy Pole™ Mount for wireless trolling-motor-independent sonar control, and supports OneVü™ Sonar overlay when combined with GT360UHD.
