The Simrad HS75 is a commercial-grade GNSS compass supporting GPS, GLONASS, BeiDou, Galileo and QZSS for precise global positioning and heading. It offers heading accuracy to within 0.75° — far better than a common magnetic rate compass, without the cost and maintenance of a gyrocompass.
Unlike a standard GPS receiver, which can only estimate heading from the movement of the boat, the HS75 provides an accurate heading even while the vessel is stationary. Integrated gyro and tilt sensors enhance performance and provide a temporary source of heading data during any loss of satellite signal.
The high-speed receiver calculates position up to 20 times every second — well suited to fast powerboats and equipment that relies on rapid position updates — and supports satellite based augmentation systems (SBAS) for enhanced accuracy where available. The HS75 also outputs rate of turn, heave, pitch and roll to compatible equipment over NMEA 2000.
Installation is plug and play. At only 35 cm long, the HS75 mounts easily to a flat surface or a pole.
The HS75 is a replacement option for the discontinued Simrad HS70.
